It is with great pleasure that we acknowledge a big group of our HRC Xtreme players namely; Do Velema, Eva Peroti, Hannah Van Beukering, Lisa Berding, Ophelie Thijm, Sverre Verheul and Ymke Keppel whom, in the last year, have represented the Netherlands taking part in different games alongside the Nederlandse Rugby League Bond.
After the selections, the players headed to their very first match in Athens, Greece, where they carried out a successful win of 0-14.
As we know, luck is an accident that only happens to the competent, and so we were not surprised to witness Oranje take home another impressive win against Italy (6-56).
Continuing the journey while delivering superlative performances, our incredible girls fought their way to the 2026 Women’s Rugby League World Cup qualifications.
The odds were not in our favor, especially when the Dames entered the so called “poule of death”, which included favorites teams like Ireland and Wales.
And so unfortunately, after a loss against Ireland (16-12) and a tough defeat against Wales (6-48), the team did not make it to the final selection.
However, the Dutch ladies took those losses in their stride, coming back from a period of rest with an outstanding combination of force, speed and courage to emerge victorious against the Royal Air Force League, not once, but twice, with final scores of 48-8 and 56-0.
We are proud to see our players shine so brightly and we wish them the best of luck for all the future games 🧡💙.
