What a night it was indeed: a lovely summer evening, an outstanding barbecue, exquisite wines and filled jugs, a large table of honor across our deck, imposing (and pleasantly short) speeches, the first match of the World Cup on display on multiple big screens, an impressive live haka and an extraordinary crowd to celebrate this kick off match with.
To give you an impression of our guests, HRC this evening was graced with the presence of:
– his excellency Mr. François Alabrune, the French Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands;
– her excellency Mrs. Corinne Ciceron Buhler, Swiss Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands;
– her excellency Madame Susannah Gordon, Ambassador of New Zealand to the Kingdom of the Netherlands;
– her excellency Mrs. Joanna Ropper, Ambassador of the British Embassy to the Kingdom of the Netherlands;
– his excellency Mr. Brendan Rogers, Irish Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands;
– his excellency Mr. Minami Hiroshi, Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands;
– Mr. Alexandru-Ion Steriu, Chargé d’áffaire a.i. at the Romanian Embassy in the Kiingdom of the Netherlands;
– a selection of embassy officers other honorable guests
– and a large delegation of the Alliance Française amongst which Mrs. Hélène Pichon Director of the Alliance Française de La Haye, Mrs. Sylvie Pons Director of studies of the Alliance Française Amsterdam, Mr. Richard Scheurs President of the Alliance Française de La Haye.
We thank Mrs. Hélène Pichon and her team, our own Dave Reabel and his team and the kitchen crew of Food to Love most heartily for organizing and facilitating this wonderful event.
And all who missed the opportunity to watch a World Cup match in real rugby atmosphere, rest assured and keep an eye on our socials (Instagram and/or Facebook), because there is more to come and mark the final (28 October) on your calendar, since that will of course be quite a happening at HRC as well!
