This seasons selection holds many familiar faces; over 20 players renewed their contracts with HRC.
Notwithstanding this strong and consistent group, there are bound to be some changes. Some player decided to retire, others found new challenges. Although it is always hard to see players leave, their choices are to be respected, we thank them for being a part of HRC, hope they too enjoyed their time with us and will remember they will always be welcome at the club.
The upside of players leaving is, the opportunity to welcome new ones to fill those positions we not (yet) have options for from our own youth. In order to assure those new players will feel welcome and at home from the very start, we made some inquiries, allowing us to introduce them to you.
First one up is Luc Mouton.
Luc started playing rugby when he was 6 years old and previously played for the Paul Roos School in Stellenbosch South Africa. Last season he was part of RC Eemland’s Future Klasse Champions team. Winning that championship was the highlight of this winger’s/outside center’s rugby career up till now.
We asked Luc what he considers the best/nicest aspect of rugby. He reply he enjoys to be part of a team and something bigger than himself. We thus can rest assured he will fit right in since the already adopted the motto’s – “no one is bigger than the team” and “you play for the name on the front of your jersey” – on our walls.
Out of curiosity we asked him what made him switch to HRC: “I love the atmosphere of the club and the type of exciting rugby they play”
Last yet not least we can inform you he goes by the name of “machine” at his old club, his friends back home however call him “chico”.
Dear Luc, we warmly welcome you at HRC, can’t wait to see you in the pitch and are anxious to know whether a “Haagse” nickname will be added to the previous two.
