Well, not completely new as Thomas has been closely involved with the Futures this season as assistant coach. HRC is very proud to share this well deserved promotion for Thomas.
He quickly found his feet at HRC, working closely with the players, Khaya, and fellow assistant coach Hiro. The Futures side enjoyed an outstanding last season, narrowly missing out in the final against Eemland after a fantastic campaign.
A proud Kiwi with over ten years of coaching experience across multiple countries and age groups, Tom brings a strong coaching foundation to his new role. Passionate about player development and building positive team cultures, he is committed to helping every player reach their full potential, both on and off the field.
“HRC was incredibly welcoming and supportive during our transition to a new country. I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to coach this Futures team and continue being part of such a great club. I look forward to contributing to the development of the club’s future players, both as rugby players and as people. Since leaving New Zealand three years ago, my partner Fiona and I are proud to call Den Haag and HRC our home.”
Tom shares the strong vision of HRC’s continued commitment to developing talented young players and creating a clear pathway into senior rugby. His enthusiasm, experience, and player-centred approach make him well placed to build on the strong foundations established by Khaya over recent seasons.
Tom lives in Den Haag with his partner, Fiona, and enjoys playing golf, board games, and exploring local restaurants outside of rugby.
