Number 4 on our list of new faces is Tuitavake Manoa. Tuitavake is a Lock, Flanker, No. 8 originating from Tonga. He however has some experience abroad and played for Ordizia R.E., a club competing in the División de Honor de Rugby (Spain’s top level professional men’s rugby union competition) and for Randwick & West Harbour RFC (in Sydney, Australia). The latter makes him a familiar face to at least one person at HRC: at Randwick Tui used to be coach by HRC Head Coach Hadley Jackson!
Tuitavake actually indicated Hadley played a big part in his decision to come to HRC. His exact words : “I came to HRC because I’ve been coached by Hadley before in Australia and know that he can get the best out of me and take me further on my rugby journey. As well I want to try something different and experience a new culture/country“.
We fully understand this motivation whereas Hadley is concerned, and will try our best to make Tui feel welcome and at home (in spite the Dutch weather).
