Last Sunday on a lovely sunny day in the Hague, HRC Colts U17 hosted Barnes Rugby Club from London. An ex-HRC player is now playing for Barnes and this is where the idea of this fixture was formed.
A kick off at 11:30hrs and the clock change the night before meant there were very sleepy looking 17 year olds wandering around the club at 10:30 that morning.
Nevertheless this was not apparent when the game kicked off. Both sides looked sharp with Barnes opening the scoring after some strong running lines in the first 5 minutes. HRC immediately hit back to level the scores with some creative attack and free flowing rugby.
The lead switched sides 3 times in the first half and another 3 times in the second half resulting in a nail biting 70 minutes of rugby.
HRC run out eventual winners in a high quality game of rugby enjoyed by all present. A big thanks to Leo who worked hard to organise this fixture.
