Yesterday saw the announcement of the new HRC Touch kit. This marks the final step in the merger between the former Den Haag Touch and HRC.
The project began in November 2023 with an informal discussion between HRC Board members and the former Den Haag Touch board. It was then extended to a six-month trial period from January to July 2024.
Since September 2024, the Touch division has been integrated into HRC through the active participation of Touch members in HRC’s organisational structure (Board, TC, CoCo, Materials, Player Committee), a new logo, and a new name on social media and at tournaments.
The collaboration has been fruitful from day one, doubling the number of training sessions and creating a youth section (the first in the Netherlands), as well as winning the National title – the Dutch Cup two years in a row!
It was the occasion for players not confident with full contact anymore to stay on the pitch. But also for some talented players who need a fast track introduction to basic skills to be integrated in rugby squads.
After several steps and different people in charge, as well as great support from Sofie, HRC Touch will proudly wear the HRC colours.
